Intranasal glucocorticoid delivery: competition between local and systemic effects

2002
Intranasal glucocorticoids are the first line treatment in the management of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis. There are currently a number of topical glucocorticoids on the market, all of which intend to produce distinct local effects with reduced systemic side effects. Nasal selectivity depends on a number of pharmacokinetic properties and this paper tries to assess these properties with respect to its targeting potential.
