Design of Bio Inspired Maple Leaf Microstrip Patch Antenna Array with Different Substrates for Wireless Applications

2021
Antenna technology evolved in various directions from the last few years. One of the popular direction is bio inspired antenna designs and methodologies. Some of the nature inspired designs are fruit, flower, and leaf structures. Among these structures maple leaf is one of the popular design for various advanced applications. In this paper a bio-inspired design for an antenna with microstrip patch arrays is discussed. This array investigated with various substrate materials to observe the performance and find the suitable substrate for the discussed design. The objective of the array antenna is to work around a frequency of 1.45GHz. The frequency band ranges and gain simulation results for the antenna array are extracted. The antenna is simulated and obtained the outcome of return loss, VSWR, radiation patterns, gain, and bandwidth. This array can be extended to some other advanced application owing to the broad scope of the proposed array antenna and nature inspired structure.
