The preoperative nursing care for repair the cutaneous deficiency of achilles tendon with lateral malleolus island flap

Objective:To observe the method and the importance of the nursing for using lateral malleolus island flap to repair the cutaneous deficiency of achilles tendon.Methods:Retrospective achilles tendon were repaired by lateral malleolus island flap,16 cases of our department during 2004 to 2009.Results:The period of follow-up ranged from half a year to 4 years.All flaps survived.The appearance,texture and the function of the flap were fine,and there was no dysfunction in donor area.Conclusion:This repairing method has such advantages as convenient dissection,satisfactory appearance and good functional recovery,indicating that it is a good choice to treat cutaneous deficiency of tendon calcaneus using this lateral malleolus island flap,do a good job of perioperative nuring is one of the keys to successful operation.
