Research progress in tissue/organ regional immunity and diseases in China

Limited knowledge on tissue/organ regional immunity impedes progress in understanding disease pathogenesis and developing new intervention strategies. With the fund of the major research plan sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese scientists have recently made great progress in discovering new subsets of immune cells, demonstrating the molecular regulatory networks in the liver, gut, lung, and decidua, illustrating the tissue/organ regional immunity and pathogenesis of related diseases, which will expectably lead to new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
