Classification of Trending Topics in Twitter

Twitter is an online news and network service where people can post and interact via messages, which has been proved to be the largest source of breaking news during 2016 U.S. presidential election. A novel way of real-time information filtering through text categorization of tweets is proposed to classify the trending topics, using a combination of short text aggregation and the multinomial Naive Bayes classifier
