Therapeutic Management of Hyphema in an Indian Pitta
2016
An Indian Pitta was brought following its rescue from injury in a suburban street. The bird on clinical examination was found to be alert but with traumatic injury on her left eye. The right eye was apparently normal but the left evidenced hyphema, periorbital edema and loss of menace response on presentation. Following a week’s fastidious therapy and care, the bird recovered uneventfully.
