Demonstration Erosion Control Project Monitoring Program. Fiscal Year 1994 Report.

Abstract : The Demonstration Erosion Control (DEC) Project provides for the development of an overall plan to control sediment, erosion, and flooding in the foothills area of the Yazoo Basin, Mississippi. Structural features used in developing rehabilitation plans for the DEC watersheds include high-drop grade control structures similar to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service (SCS) Type C structure; low-drop grade control structures similar to the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) low-drop structure; pipe drop structures; bank stabilization; and a combination of retention and detention reservoirs. In addition, other features such as levees, pumping plants, land treatments, and developing technologies may also be used.
