New dielectric materials: how to control their reliability in avionics environment for a long term period ?
2004
Polymers are commonly used in electronics in two different ways: to support the elements of an electric network and to insulate the different elements from each other. But with the scale down of new technologies and the use of new materials, we must find new methodologies to control their reliability in avionics environment for a long term period. For that purpose, dielectric measurements are made on a polyurethane conformal coating. We will show that this technique helps to follow evolution and degradation of polymers in real aeronautic environments and during continuous ageing of materials.
