The Yangbajing Muon–Neutron Telescope

2010
A new muon-neutron telescope has been constructed at Yangbajing, Tibet, China. It has been successfully operating for 2 years. At the same location in Yangbajing, cosmic rays are simultaneously monitored by a neutron monitor, a neutron telescope and a muon telescope. It is expected that these instruments will obtain sufficient information regarding energetic solar cosmic rays to greatly benefit research and understanding of the space environment of the Earth. This paper describes the newly built muon-neutron telescope. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
