Effects or norfloxacin in the seminogram of patients with chronic bacterial prostatitis a pilot trial

1989
Fifteen men with chronic bacterial prostatitis entered a noncomparative pilot trial. They were treated with oral norfloxacin 400 mg twice daily over 15 days. Several parameters of prostatic function were studied: ejaculate volume, spermatozoa motility, total spermatozoa count, and the presence of pyocytes in the ejaculate. Norfloxacin significantly improved all these parameters without a significant increase in sperm abnormalities. No biochemical or hematological abnormalities were noted
