P-161: White Organic Light-emitting Diodes with Nearly 100% Internal Quantum Efficiency

2010
The authors demonstrated white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLED) with 100% internal quantum efficiency using all phosphorescent emitters for blue, green, and red, such as iridium(III) bis[(5-cyano-4-fluorophenyl)pyridinato-N,C2’]picolinate, fac-tris(2-phenylpyridine)iridium, and iridium(III) bis(2-phenylquinoline) acetylacetonate, respectively. The optimized WOLED with electron transporitng layer, 2′,2″-(1,3,5-benzinetriyl)-tris(1-phenyl-1-H-benzimidazole), exhibits an external quantum efficiency of nearly 19.5%, a power efficiency of 39.2 lm W−1, and a minimal change with δ Commission Internationale de I'Eclairage coordinates of ±(0.02, 0.00) from 100 to 10 000 cd m−2, respectively.
