Twelfth congress of the world council of comparative education societies (WCCES), Havana, Cuba

The first pleasant surprise for all of us, participants and organizers, was the great number of academics, professors and teachers from all parts of the world who came to Havana. There were 950 delegates from 68 countries and 3 international organizations who came with great enthusiasm and commit? ment to honour the theme "Education and Social Justice". The program was characterized by the diversity of options offered to participants, among them: keynote addresses by internationally recognized specialists, educational visits, thematic group sessions, pre-conference seminars, the WCCES Gen? eral Assembly, the Forum "Internationalisation of Higher Education" at the University of Havana, and the Cultural Gala.
