Diet of Pseudaphritis urvillii (Cuvier & Valenciennes) (Pisces : Bovichthyidae) from south-eastren Tasmania

1980
Numerical and volumetric analyses were conducted on the gut contents of 698 specimens of P. urdlii taken from 10 streams in south-eastern Tasmania. P. uidlii is shown to be a generalized carnivore eating a wide range of benthic animals. Information is given on the variation in diet with season and fish size. A comparison is made of the diets of fish from estuarine and freshwater sites on one river.
