Alkyl Thioglycolaies of Lalwhai. XUI, Praseodymium, Keodyi-Lium and Sakariuk

Abstract Alkyl thioglycolates of the type Ln2L3, and LnL'3 (In = La, Pr, Nd, Sm; L = dianionic methyl and ethylthio-glycolate; L' = monoionic n-butyl thioglycolate) were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis and infrared spectra. The Ln2L3, complexes are products of the enolic form of alkyl thioglycolates as evidenced by the i.r. spectra. In contrast to this, in the LnL'3 complexes the ester is monoprotonic and coordinated to the metal through the ester oxygen.
