Sibutramine improves fat distribution and insulin resistance, and increases serum adiponectin levels in Korean obese nondiabetic premenopausal women

Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of sibutramine on body composition and fat distribution, insulin resistance, and serum adiponectin levels in obese women. A total of 28 obese, premenopausal women (mean age, 34.5 ± 13.7 years; BMI, 31.00 ± 4.10 kg/m 2 ) was studied before and after 12-week-course of sibutramine (10 mg/day).
