Study of Bobwhite Quails Species (Colinus virginianus) Slaughtering Results Comparatively with Japanese Quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica)

The live weight at 42 weeks of age, the maturity age, at analysed Bobwhite quails was 225.00 ± 2.56 g/head in females and 220.00 ± 2.95 g/head in males, the difference being statistically insignificant. The Japanese quail, average live weight at the age of 10 weeks was 11 % higher in females (236.00 ± 2.75 cu g/head) compared with that of the males (210.00 ± 2.34 g/head). In the case of Bobwhite quails, eviscerated yield was 71.11 ± 1.85% in females and 73.30% ± 2.75 in males, while in the Japanese quails it was 65.67 ± 1.86% in females and 66.19 ± 1.67% in males. The average weight of the chest in Bobwhite quails was 70.00 ± 1.25 g in females and 73.00 ± 1.45 g to males, while the Japanese quails this was 73.00 ± 1.33 g in females and 65.00 ± 1.54 g to males.
