Substituted 1-h-3-phenyl-5-cycloalkylpyrrolidine-2,4-dione, its preparation and its use

PURPOSE: To provide the new 1-H-3-phenyl-5-cycloalkylpyrrolidine-2,4-dione useful as an agricultural chemical (especially, as an insecticide and an acaricide) and herbicide. CONSTITUTION: The objective compound is expressed by the formula I [A is a substitutable cycloalkyl; B is H or a substitutable alkyl; X and Z are each an alkyl, halogen or alkoxy; Y is H, (halogeno)alkyl or alkoxy; (n) is 0-3; G is H, CO-R 1 , SO 2 -R 2 , the formula II-IV or E (E is an equivalent of metal ion or an ammonium ion; L and M are each O or S; R 1 is alkyl, phenyl, hetaryl or the like; R 2 is alkyl, alkenyl, phenyl, benzyl or the like; R 3 -R 5 are each alkyl, alkoxy, phenyl, phenoxy or the like; R 6 and R 7 are each alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy or the like)], e.g. 3-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-5-cyclohexyl-5-methyl-pyrrolidine-2,4-dione. The compound of formula I, wherein G is H, is obtained by subjecting a N- acylamino acid ester of the formula V (R 8 is an alkyl) to intermolecular condensation. COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
