Remediation method of abnormal rail corrugation of Beijing subway based on engineering analogy

To remediate abnormal rail corrugation of Beijing subway,it is the first time that the causes and treatment measures of abnormal rail corrugation have been studied from the perspective of track stiffness based on engineering analogy.The article takes Beijing subway line 4 having abnormal rail corrugation as the research object and makes it compare with Beijing subway line 1 and line 2 having no abnormal rail corrugation.We select representative curve as test sections and test track's vertical stiffness and lateral stiffness.The analyses show the following conclusions.Low track's lateral stiffness is direct cause of abnormal rail corrugation and track's vertical stiffness have little effect on abnormal rail corrugation.It is useful to avoid abnormal rail corrugation by increasing properly track's lateral stiffness so that track's vertical and lateral stiffness ratio is less than 3.Field investigations show that abnormal rail corrugation is well controlled after increasing track's lateral stiffness.
