Synthesis of polymer suspensions for immunoassay

2002
The methods of preparing polymer suspensions with a varying diameter of particles whose properties meet the requirements imposed for use in medicine and biology were analyzed. Polymer suspensions were prepared using emulsifier-free and seed polymerization techniques. The synthetic conditions that provide suitable polymer microspheres in terms of requirements imposed on these species were elaborated. At all stages of formation of test systems for which polystyrene microspheres with particle diameter ranging from 0.04 to 2.5 μm were used, the properties of polymer suspensions were comprehensively studied.
