Process for producing an optically active carboxylic acid ester

2008
The optically active carboxylic acid ester directly from secondary alcohols and carboxylic acids racemic, to provide a method of manufacturing, and by the same means as the method, to provide a method for optical resolution of secondary alcohols racemic. As an asymmetric esterification catalyst (-) - tetramisole, (+) - tetramisole, (-) - benzo Tetramyristoyl sole, (+) - using benzo Tetramyristoyl sole like, in the presence of benzoic anhydride or a derivative thereof and a one enantiomer with a carboxylic acid of the secondary alcohol of racemic by dehydration condensation reaction to produce an optically active carboxylic acid ester, the other enantiomer of unreacted optical resolution.
