Observation of the reaction. nu. /sub mu/+p. --> nu. /sub mu/+p

We have observed the elastic neutral-current reaction ..nu../sub mu/+p..--> nu../sub mu/+p and compared it to the quasielastic reaction ..nu../sub mu/+n..--> mu../sup -/+p. We have measured the ratio of the two reactions to be 0.23 +- 0.09. (AIP)
