Unstructured Grid Solver for the Convection-Diffusion Equation

The paper describes a finite volume method for the solving steady and unsteady two-dimensional convection-diffusion equation on unstructured grid. The fully implicit time scheme is used in steady state calculation and Cranck-Nicholson scheme for unsteady problems. Spatial derivatives are discretized by a variant of locally differencing scheme. The method for the generation of an unstructured locally orthogonal grid is given. The developed control volume method is tested in some typical test cases. It is concluded that the method is simple and appropriate for problems in complex domains.
