ADVANCES IN STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEMS IN CIVIL ENGINEERING

The health monitoring of civil engineering structures is an important research field,which covers various areas,such as data acquisition system,signal processing,structure analysis.In this paper,the necessity and urgency to implement structural health monitoring in civil engineering are discussed,including the concepts, structures and applications of the structural health monitoring system.All subsystems are analyzed with respect to their functions,characteristics and implementations.The theories,methods and mechanical issues of the subsystems are emphasized.Finally,some promising research subjects in the area are pinpointed.
