Optimization of 40 Gbit/s dispersion maps for long-haul WDM transmissions with up to 0.4 bit/s/Hz spectral efficiency

We numerically study optimal line dispersion management for 40 Gbit/s-based long-haul transmission systems, when considering first single-channel, and second WDM systems with 200 GHz and 100 GHz channel spacing.
