Abstract : Bottles and tanks for high pressures of 5000 pounds per square inch and above are discussed under the classifi cations of design, performance, fabrication, and material considerations. Single-walled, multilayered, and banded pressure vessels are considered together with manufacturing methods. Test procedures and fracture initiation and propagation are discussed and analyzed. Consideration is also given to materials and specifications. (Author)
