Effects of Dietary Nucleotides on Hepatic Fibrosis Induced by CCl_4 Injection in Rat

2009
Objective Effects of dietary nucleotides on hepatic fibrosis induced by CCl_4 were studied. Methods 90 SD rats were divided randomly into a control group,a CCl_4 group and a CCl_4 + NTs group.Rats in CCl_4 group and CCl_4 + NTs group got abdominal injection of CCl_4 2 times a week for 12 weeks, the CCl_4 + NTs group was fed with a nucleotide-supplemented diet, the control group and the CCl_4 group were fed with a nucleotide-free diet. Results The survival rate of CCl_4 + NTs group rats is 93%and the CCl_4 group is only 80%.The rats weight of the CCl_4 group is lighter than the CCl_4 + NTs group, and markedly in the 2nd,4th,6th,8th and 10th week. The rats weight of the CCl_4 + NTs group is also lighter than the control group, but not markedly. In the CCl_4 group, the content of MDA in liver homogenate higher than the CCl_4 + NTs group and control group. And the morphologic features of rat liver shows the NTs group have a milder liver injury. Conclusion Dietary Nucleotides may interfere the hepatic fibrosis induced by CCl_4 in rat.
