Relaxation State of Wood and Production of Cellulose Composites for Energy Purposes: Wood Briquettes and Pellets

2021
Changes in the relaxation state of polymeric components of wood at the main stages of production of cellulose composites for energy purposes—wood pellets and briquettes—are considered. The possibility of transition to energy-saving technology due to dispersion under conditions of directional brittle destruction of sawdust during its transformation into a powder material and the extrudability of the powder in subsequent steam humidification is shown. An anomaly of the apparent viscosity of the wood system in the extruder due to the combined effect of water vapor, gaseous pyrolysis products, temperature, and shear stresses is observed.
