Uwięzieni w sieci - temperamentalne i osobowościowe predyspozycje uzależnienia od Internetu

The number of Internet users grows every year, making up 69% of the society in 2019. This fact brings about the appearance of new forms of cyber threats and the development of phenomenons, which are becoming a burden of the information society – Internet and electronic devices addictions. Due to the lack of a clear definition of the Internet addiction disorder it is very difficult to estimate its actual prevalence and to understand the psychopathological mechanisms which predispose to its occurrence. Studies on Internet addiction conducted until now focused mostly on the aspect of cognitive functions and social predispositions. This indicates an urgent need for thorough research on the topic of personality and temperament traits associated with this problem, what was addressed in this paper. Moreover, the development of the addiction, as well as the most recent therapeutic approaches and their effectiveness were considered.
