Galvanoforming as an alternative to composite restorations

2015
The properties and use of galvanoforming are presented on the basis of the literature. Evaluating the possibilities of applying galvanoforming technology for making accurate restorations. Restorations performed by galvanoforming are characterised by very good marginal tightness, biocompatibility, low weight and ensure smaller plaque deposition. Homogeneous gold with a purity of 99.99% eliminates the risk of corrosion or allergy associated with traditional dental alloys. Galvanoforming technology provides considerable opportunities for precision retention elements, and increases the mechanical strength and resistance to deformation of final restorations.
