An efficient network approach for spectral domain green's functions

1994
The direct way of evaluating spectral domain Green's functions in the spectral domain moment method is to expand electromagnetic wave modes in each dielectric layer and match the boundary conditions at layer interfaces to obtain unknown coefficients. For multi-layer structures, this leads to a very lengthy derivation process. In [1], an immitance approach is proposed to derive the spectral domain Green's function for planar electric currents in printed transmission lines of two dimensional problems. In [2], a set of formulations are derived to evaluate Green's functions by an iteration process. In [3], a dyadic spectral domain Green's function for single layer grounded dielectrics was derived for electric currents and a corresponding network displayed for this structure. However, the Green's function was still derived from the Maxwell's equations and boundary conditions.
