Pamela Raymond received her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan. She is currently Professor of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan. She has held academic appointments at Harvard Medical School and the University of Michigan Medical School, and she has been a visiting Professor at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, the University of Utah, and the University of California, San Francisco. Professor Raymond has served on numerous federal scientific review panels; she chaired the National Institutes of Health Visual Sciences C study section and is currently chair of the National Eye Institute Board of Scientific Counselors. As Associate Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs at the University of Michigan from 1997 to 2002, Professor Raymond was involved in numerous institutional activities directly relevant to the advancement of women faculty in science and engineering. She is serving as Co-PI on the University of Michigan's NSF ADVANCE Institutional Transformation Award.
