Amenazas del islamismo radical en el proceso de globalización

2018
This book examines the main threats posed by radical Islamism, especially in the context of the Middle East, as well as the Western world and Latin America. In the first place, a characterization of the Islamist movements is made, pointing out the different branches, as well as the main stages of their emergence. Second, we focus on Sunni fundamentalism, distinguishing political movements, such as the Muslim Brotherhood, and Jihadist movements, such as Al Qaeda and the Islamic State. Third, we refer to Shiite fundamentalism, establishing the role of Iran since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, and its support for certain movements such as Hezbola. Fourthly, some references are made to the presence of Islamist movements in Latin America, especially from their connection with the 1992 and 1994 attacks in Buenos Aires.
