Approval Motivation and Sexual Daydreaming

1993
Abstract This study examined the relationship between approval motivation and sexual daydreaming. College students were administered the Social Desirability Scale and the Sexual Daydreaming Subscale of the Imaginal Processes Inventory. High-approval-motivated subjects reported significantly less sexual daydreaming than low-approval-motivated subjects. In light of previous research, the present results are discussed in terms of the apparent discrepancy between the overt and covert sexual activity of high- and low-approval-motivated individuals.
