SMART GRID TEST BED IMPLEMENTATION IN CONTROLLING THE LIGHTING SYSTEM ON SMART HOME ENVIRONMENT

2016
Smart Grid concepts have been proposed in order to minimize the problem of unreliable, unsecure, inefficient and ineffectiveness of the electricity and energy consumption leading to the disparity of electric grids. Combining them with other technologies in control, communication and computing such as Internet and Wireless Sensor Network bring to the implementation of the Smart Home technologies. This paper presents the application of Smart Grid concept through several test bed implementations on the Smart Home technology so as to manage lighting systems that can be applied to decrease electricity consumption and check the electric energy used for the lighting devices at homes. Moreover, the technology can also bring the optimization to the data collection of energy utilization coming from other electrical devices in a residence. This is intended to easily manage the monitoring process and to provide the priority for a light on the lighting systems obtained from the measurement of energy consumption and user comfortability.
