Jean-Pierre Vittu : The development of tables of contents of literary periodicals at the time of the Encyclopedie. ; In the middle of the 18th century there were many plans for tables of contents of literary periodicals, some of which succeeded, beginning with the Journal des Savants. Behind these publications we can find a publishing strategy, as can be seen from their link with reeditions of reviews dating from the turn of the century. Together with journals introducing other reviews, compilations (in periodical form or collections) and articles selected according to their origin or a particular theme, the publication of these tables of contents is part of a desire to make knowledge available, which is linked to the project of the Encyclopedie.
