Rotary machines sealing arrangement with shock gap sealing elements
2012
Systems and means for substantially fluidly isolating portions of a rotary machine (280, 490, 942, 944, 948) are disclosed. In one embodiment includes a seal assembly (100) for a rotary machine (280, 490, 942, 944, 948): a complementary set of seal segments (110, 210, 510, 610, 710, 810) which are formed relative to one another, so that they have a substantially continuous body (100) with shock gaps (130, 230) between the seal segments (110, 210, 510, 610, 710, 810), wherein the seal segments (110, 210, 510, 610, 710, 810 ) include: a head flange (214, 514); and an axial neck (212, 512, 712) connected to the head flange (214, 514) is connected, whereby the axial neck (212, 512, 712) extends radially inward and an axial slot (216, 516, 616, 716, 717) which is formed substantially therethrough; and at least one shock gap sealing member (120, 220, 320, 520, 620, 720, 721, 820), said at least one shock gap sealing member (120, 220, 320, 520, 620, 720, 721, 820) an axial flange (222, 322, 522, 622, 822) and a radial flange (224, 324, 524, 624, contains 824), said axial flange (222, 322, 522, 622, 822) of the (216 within the axial slots 516 , 616, 716, 717) of adjacent seal segments (110, 210, 510, 610, 710, 810) is disposed, and the radial flange (224, 324, 524, 624, 824) extending radially inwardly from the axial slots (216, 516, 616, 716, 717) to a vicinity of the rotating machine (280, 490, 942, 944, 948) extends, in the We sentlichen a barrier for an axial flow by the shock gap (130, 230) form.
