The 433 MHz rf generator for the ELSA-FEL experiment

Abstract An rf generator and its associated waveguide distribution have been built as a part of our development program on a high-peak-power FEL. In this paper, we describe the main components of the accelerator chain: — the 6 MW peak-power klystron, built by TH-TTE, — the 11 MW hard-tube modulator, built by TH-TTE, — the three-way circulator, built by TEKELEC Microwave, — the HV power supply, built by CEGELEC, — the waveguide circuitry.
