Determination of the Use of Financial Information in Internal Communication: The Case of Hotel Organizations

With the development of globalization and information technologies, competition conditions among organizations have changed. The quality of internal communication plays an important role in competition. As it is known, effective performance of organizations is possible with the quality and reliability of financial reporting. In this context, the quality and quantity of internal financial data disclosures have a direct impact on the performance of employees. In line with the explanations, the main purpose of this study is to investigate how financial information is used in the internal communication processes of hotel organizations in Fethiye destination. Depending on the main purpose of the study, the managers of 22 five and four star hotels in Fethiye were interviewed semi-structured. As a result of the study, the usage of financial information in the internal communication was determined and how the required financial communication training would be conducted and the communication tools used in the organization became widespread.
