The invention discloses an adjustable convergence confinement device and method for a large underground construction strong rigid support. The device comprises the rigid support used for supporting surrounding rock, and a plurality of convergence confinement structures are arranged between the peripheral side of the rigid support and the rock. Each convergence confinement structure comprises a compression-resistant steel block, a shell and an adjusting part. At least one yielding column is arranged on one side of each compression-resistant steel block and sleeved with an elastic part, one end of each elastic part is connected with the corresponding compression-resistant steel block, and the other end of the elastic part is provided with a pressure sensor. Each shell is internally provided with an open groove, a yielding joint part is arranged at the inner bottom of each open groove, the yielding columns make contact with the corresponding yielding joint parts and arranged in grooves, and the pressure sensors are arranged at the bottoms of the corresponding elastic parts. Each adjusting part is used for adjusting the pressure of the corresponding elastic part and comprises a rotating rod provided with a gear, parts of gear teeth of each gear are engaged with an adjusting mark column, and one end of each adjusting mark column is fixed to the corresponding compression-resistant steel block.
