Hodnocení obtížnosti položek dotazníku a úrovně vybraných obecných znalostí u pacientů s diabetem mellitem 2. typu

Aim: Describe the evaluation of the difficulty of the items of this questionnaire and its level of knowledge in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods: The data collection took place in the period of 08-11/2018 using the questionnaire with verified psychometric properties and designed especially for Czech population. From the results obtained from 226 patients, the difficulty of the items of the questionnaire was evaluated by calculating the value of difficulty Q and identified items with the lowest knowledge score. Results: The difficulty values of the items ranged from 0.24-0.77. Knowledge scores ranged from 23% to 76%. The research showed that patients have the greatest knowledge gaps about nutritional recommendations in the field of DIA food and the symptoms of hypoglycaemia. The highest knowledge score was achieved for an item determining whether a person with diabetes can damage his/her lower limbs without feeling it. Conclusion: The level of knowledge of the respondents can be assessed as good. The results obtained from this survey will serve to improve the education of people with diabetes mellitus.
