Optical path controller and information recording and reproducing device using the same

PURPOSE: To obtain the optical path controller which is commonly used for forming a focus and for moving the focus by providing a curved mirror which reflects light beams and converges the light beams so as to form the focus and a means for deforming the curved mirror so as to move the position of the focus. CONSTITUTION: This controller is constituted by supporting a parabolic mirror 4 which is the curved mirror and a bimorph type piezoelectric element 5 which is the deforming means adhered to the side opposite from the reflection surface of the parabolic mirror 4 by means of a supporting member 6. The light beams 2 which are parallel rays of light are converged to form the focus 3 when the light beams 2 are reflected at the parabolic mirror 4. The position of the focus 3 is moved by applying a voltage to the bimorph type piezoelectric element 5 to deform the parabolic mirror 4, by which the deviation of the focus 3 from the top of a recording medium 1 by the deviation of the recording medium 1, etc., is prevented.
