Design of a 5.8GHz band-notched UWB three-way power divider using symmetric F-shaped DGS

This paper presents a compact three-way planar Wilkinson power divider with overall dimensions of 23mm×12mm operating over UWB with band-notched characteristic is presented. By using two F-shaped symmetric defected ground structures (DGS), a notched band covering the 5.8GHz WLAN band (5.576.44GHz) has been obtained. Through the whole UWB except the rejected frequency band, the measured results show that the proposed power divider has insertion loss of 5.2± 0.5dB, better than 10dB return loss, and good isolation of better than 15dB. There is a good agreement shown between the measured and simulation results.
