Resection of the extracranial internal carotid aneurysm

1967
Abstract The problems encountered in the management of aneurysm of the extracranial portion of the internal carotid artery are discussed. A case report of successful resection of such an aneurysm is presented. Mild resolving neurologic deficit occurred. Various methods such as controlled hypertension, hypothermia, and shunting are discussed as a means to make this a safer procedure.
