In this control method, a computer in a mobile information terminal is made to display a display screen expressing a floorplan including one or more rooms on a display, and, using at least one memory that associates and manages first information, which indicates the type(s) of one or more device icons respectively expressing one or more target devices, and second information, which indicates the attributes of each of the one or more rooms, is made to display the one or more device icons on the display screen in regions corresponding to the rooms associated with each of the one or more device icons in accordance with the type(s) of the one or more device icons.
