Systems-theoretical methods for the control of trans-European energy supply systems

This paper given an overview of the activities of a priority research program sponsored by DFG (German Research Association). The involved working groups present papers about the progress of their work in this journal. Scope of this work are the network extension in Europe and the consequences of the deregulation and liberalization of the electricity market. So, method of network reduction stability, load flow management, visualization and optimation are treated.
