UBV photometry of the contact binary AM Leonis

New UBV observations of a contact binary AM Leonis obtained during 1982, 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1991 observing seasons at the Ankara University Observatory are presented. Based on all available light curves of the system, time dependent light variations of the system are studied, particularly at the extrema points. Time scale of the variations was found as short as a few cycles (∼ 1 day). Thirteen new estimates of the minima times are given. Altogether twenty two recent times of minima reveal the following improved light elements: Min I = HJD 2439936.8217 + 0.36579760E
