Extension of the Applied Capabilities of the Analogue Search Method for the Shape Identification of a Projection of Abrasive Powder Grains

2021
The degree of perfection in the quantitative-object composition of a set of basic figure analogues (BFA) in the analogue search method for identifying the shape of a projection of abrasive powder grains was studied. To extend the application capabilities of this method, it was proposed to complement the known list of BFA with figures shaped as a semiregular octagon and a dodecagon. The analytical representation of simple shape similarity criteria to new BFA was performed, and corresponding software was created. Some results of testing the improved analogue search method on standard grinding powders of synthetic diamond and corundum were given.
