Hydrogen diffusion coefficient in binary and ternary alloys

1998
The hydrogen diffusion coefficient in short-range ordered binary alloys and in disordered ternary alloys was calculated using a previously developed approach . A set of equations that determined the hydrogen diffusion coefficient in terms of its diffusion coefficients in the pure metals constituting the alloy was derived and numerically solved. The composition dependences of the hydrogen diffusion coefficient in ternary bcc (V x Ta y Nb 1-x-y ) and fcc (Pd x Au y Pt 1-x-y ) alloys are presented as illustrative examples.
