Woods of the European North throughout many years were object of extensive operation that has caused deterioration of their qualitative structure and reduction of a share of coniferous plantings in a transport and economically accessible part of wood fund. The maintenance question accessible and qualitative wood raw materials gets now a special urgency. Creation of wood cultures with orientation of process of growth of wood to reception of target kinds of certain quality can be one of exits in the circumstances. Conducting a forestry in the form of a plantation has had development in territory of the Vologda area in connection with deficiency of wood raw materials for a pulp and paper industry. The condition of plantations is estimated, as a rule, on growth and efficiency of forest stands. In modern conditions there is a practical necessity of researches of quality of formed wood for the purpose of definition of possibility of its use to destination.
