SUMMARY: Here we study the incidence of the Burnout Syndrome in a sample of teachers of physical education from the city of Merida (Venezuela). For assessment, the MBI (Maslach and Jackson, 1981) was used. The results point to the presence of the syndrome in this collective in the following percentages: low level of Burnout (41.4%), intermediate level (48.6%) and high level (10%).
